Mission: Your Passion Made Clear

Outstanding people have one thing in common: an absolute sense of mission

-Zig Ziglar

Mission:

  1. An important goal or purpose that is accompanied by strong conviction; a calling or a vocation
  2. Any work that someone believes it is their duty to do
  3. Any important task or duty that is assigned, allotted, or self-imposed

Where the Magic Happens

When we align our path with our talents, that is where the magic happens.  As we grow up, the untamed world often tells us whom it wants us to be.  A well-intentioned parent, a teacher, societal norms, pop culture, naysayers, and people with ulterior motives can lead us down a path away from our God-given gifts.

Even worse, sometimes we feel as though we have no mission or gifts at all.  In effect, we misunderstand that to mean that we don’t matter.  But we all matter.  We all were given special gifts that when used to achieve mastery, make for a fulfilling life and up-level the world.  We all have a duty, whether we recognize it or not, to leave this world a better place than we found it and to use our special gifts in doing so.

The Human Chart of Elements

Just like the chart of elements in Chemistry, the world was created with different kinds of people, all having inherent talents that are intended to help our world run smoothly through the division of labor. People with different skills and aptitudes are spread throughout the world.  When we discover how we were made and dedicate ourselves to mastering those gifts and applying them to a personal mission it benefits both our lives and the lives of others.

Furthermore, like chemistry again, when we combine our talents with other’s complementary talents, we create what is termed “Rocket Fuel” in the book of the same name by Gino Wickman and Mark Winters.  This talent concoction is the genius of innovation and success.

When we discover how we were made and dedicate ourselves to mastering those gifts and applying them to a personal mission it benefits both our lives and the lives of others.

What is Your Personal Mission?

How can you tell what your mission is?  If you master your talents and listen to your heart, you will not be able to turn away from the opportunities that arise.   Your mission will creep into your subconscious and whisper to you.  It will not be denied.  Seemingly serendipitous events will keep showing you signs, teachers, and cohorts.

Your mission will be unique to you.  Once you recognize your strengths, you will be shown how to fulfill your destiny if you are open to the signs that pull you to mastery and a specific mission.  Pray on it, meditate on it, be still and let it fill you with an unstoppable desire.  Your gifts are unique to you! Your job is to master them and apply them to a mission that makes this world better.
