Let’s be honest. Financial freedom in your home is important. But Finance is the topic nobody wants to talk about at a dinner party. It’s easier to chat about your latest workout streak or your kid’s soccer schedule than it is to say, out loud,
“I’m not totally sure my money is working for me.”
But in the Wheel House Method, every spoke only holds up because the others are supporting it. And Finance? Finance is often the one holding the whole wheel together. When it’s out of alignment, you feel it everywhere else, in your stress levels, your relationships, even your ability to enjoy the home you worked so hard to create.
Finance isn’t about the numbers. It’s about the freedom.
I’ve sat across the table from so many clients who thought this spoke was just about a bank balance or a credit score. It’s not. Finance, in the Wheel House sense, is about whether your money is actually helping you live the life you say you want. Are you making decisions from a place of security, or from a place of scarcity? Are you saving for a future you’re excited about, or just saving because you’re supposed to?
That distinction changes everything, especially in real estate. I can’t tell you how many buyers come to me focused entirely on “what can I afford” without ever asking “what do I actually want my money to do for me.” Those are two very different questions, and only one of them leads to a home that sets you free.

Here are few honest questions for this spoke:
- Do you know where your money goes each month, or does it feel like it disappears?
- Are your big financial decisions (your home, your investments, your spending) aligned with your values, or are they on autopilot?
- When you think about your financial future, do you feel calm or anxious?
There’s no wrong answer here. The point of the Wheel House Method isn’t to shame you into a budget spreadsheet. It’s to get curious. Awareness is always the first spoke to turn.
A small step forward
If Finance feels like the spoke you’ve been avoiding, start small. Pick one financial decision this week, big or small, and ask yourself: does this move me closer to the life I want, or is it just habit? That’s it. That’s the whole assignment.
Real alignment doesn’t happen overnight, and it definitely doesn’t happen by ignoring the spoke that makes you the most uncomfortable. It happens one honest look at a time.

So, this week, I’m inviting you to take that look. Not from a place of judgment, but from a place of curiosity. Your finances aren’t just numbers on a page. They’re a reflection of what you value and what you’re building toward, whether that’s your next home, your next chapter, or simply a little more peace of mind.
That’s what living in your Wheel House really means: every spoke, finance included, working together to carry you forward.
